I will admit these are deceptive upon first glance: A guy who’s has an apple for a head (Appleguy) and a guy who’s a log (Beefwood) hang out with their friends, have adventures… and journey deep into consciousness?? But I’ll be danged if these aren’t some of the best comics around right now… funny, literate, sensitive, weird, absurd, joyful, hopeful, clever, and Van Tassel has perfect cartoonist’s timing.
